PROCESS
Creating in my studio space begins with exploration and observation, capturing the intricate patterns and forms in nature.
I translate these soft, ever-changing natural forms into metal. I start by designing sketching out the forms and shapes that I see in my photography and use these sketches as my foundation. I then emboss the metal, the challenge lies in conveying the translucence and softness of water, which I aim to achieve by carefully layering colourful enamel and resin over the embossed metal. These materials help to simulate the fluidity and depth of natural elements, making the rigid metal surface appear almost soft and dynamic.
Each piece is a testament to my belief in the connection between the soul and the physical world, inspired by the values of the Bahá'í Faith. The harmonious blend of metal, enamel, and resin reflects the beauty I find in nature and aims to invite people to contemplate their own connection to creation and the transcendent beauty that surrounds us.
